COW 2009 5th Copenhagen Workshop on Endocrine Disrupters Ubiquitous endocrine disrupters and possible human health effects |
|
Dear friends and colleagues
We are pleased to invite you to the 5th Copenhagen Workshop on Endocrine Disrupters to be held in Spring 2009.
The meeting is mainly supported by the Danish Ministry of the Environment and the Danish Ministry of Health and Prevention. We are also grateful for a grant from the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology. The workshop is intended to facilitate an exchange of information and views both within the scientific community and with experts engaged in regulation and policymaking. The Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet) will again be the venue site.
We intend to focus on possible effects of exposures to endocrine disrupters present in our everyday life e.g. in our food, consumer products and our homes. The role of mixed exposures and links between effects in laboratory animals and observations in wildlife and humans will also be addressed. Both effects on reproduction and non-reproductive organs will be discussed.
We are fortunate that the programme committee has secured participation of excellent speakers, and hope to receive interesting abstracts with new hot data to be presented as posters. The sessions are designed to allow time for discussion, and we invite you to take part also in the social events to foster informal exchanges.
We look forward to seeing you in Copenhagen.
